Senior Spotlight: Jacob Wilson
Today Triton High School honors the accomplishments of senior Jacob Wilson. Jacob is the son of John and Mary Wilson of Bourbon. Jacob plans to attend trade school to become an electrical lineman. As a student-athlete, Jacob played four seasons of Triton Football and one season of Triton Wrestling. He was also preparing for his first season of track & field before the 2020 season was canceled.
Q&A with Jacob
Do you have any siblings? Yes, Bethany is my older sister.
What awards did you earn during high school? In football, we made the sectional final my sophomore season and won the sectional my junior season. I wrestled during my sophomore year and the team placed 1st at the conference meet.
What clubs or activities do you participate in outside of sports? Spirit Club
Who were your role models growing up? Who inspires you today? My role model growing up was my dad and still is my dad. He really works hard and is passionate about his work and I try to reflect his character because it’s really inspiring.
What do you consider your biggest life accomplishment so far? I set a goal to buy my own truck because I would rather have earned something then have it handed to me. I worked really hard for about 2 months to achieve it.
What impressions do you hope you've made as a scholar, athlete, and/or member of the community? I hope as a football player that my work ethic has set a good example for the underclassmen to try and reflect.
Do you have any special talents? none
If you won an all-expenses-paid trip to anywhere in the world, where would you go? I would go to North Carolina because I was born there and can't really remember it all that well.
If you had 2 hours every week to do anything you wanted, what would it be and why? I would go fishing because I like to rip lips.
Is there anyone you would like to thank or give a shoutout to? I'd like to give a shoutout to coach Younid for being an inspiration and teaching us for life and not just football.
