7 different Triton Varsity Boys in 6 different events qualified to move on to Regional action last night in Plymouth at the Sectional 6 meet. The boys had another rainy night to compete in but it seems to have become the norm at this point this spring season. Triton is proud to announce 3 Sectional Champions on the night.
First was the 4x100 Relay Team made up of Jayden Overmyer, Cole Shively, Cameron Callahan, and Javan May. Not only were they the 1st place team and Sectional CHAMPS, but they also set a NEW TRITON SCHOOL RECORD. Two members, Callahan and May, were a part of the previous record-setting team that broke the record last season. The 2024 team came out and set a scorching time of 44.05. The previous record was 44.60.
Second was, Senior Javan May, winning the 100m DASH!! He currently holds the school record in that race to date.
The 3rd Sectional Champ on the night was, Sophomore Cameron Callahan, in the Long Jump. Setting a new personal record jump of 21' 5.5". The school record is currently 22' 1" (Tie record held by Curt Anders 1984, Dan Sharpe 1972).
There were also TWO 2nd Place Sectional Runners-ups on the night who will both advance to Regionals also.
Congratulations continue to go out to Cam Callahan who took 2nd place behind Javan in the 100m Dash with a time of 11.50. Caden Large was the other 2nd place Sectional runner-up in the 300m Hurdles, shattering his previous PR of 42.52 with a run tonight of 41.72. Coming in at 3rd Place on the night and advancing to Regionals was the 4x400 Relay Team, of Caden Large, Jayden Overmyer, Antonio Johnson, and Isaac Quintana. They also set a NEW PR on the night, coming in at 3:38.83. Photo Album

Eleven schools came to Bremen last night for the Sectional 6 Varsity Girls Track and Field Competition. Triton put their best girls in the events where they had the best chance of advancing to Regionals, sacrificing the team scoring to keep the girls fresh and at their best. That strategy got Triton 7th place overall. Triton now has two girls for sure moving on to Regionals and 3 more in the hunt.
Congratulations to Addyson Viers and Rilee Bemish who both finished second in their events to qualify for Regional action next week in Kokomo. Addyson was a double qualifier in both Shot Put and Discus while Rilee qualified in Pole Vault.
In the hunt is Addison Albright in the 300 Hurdles where she set a new PR last night in the event.
Katie Reichard and Avery Viers both have a shot in their events depending on how the other area sectionals played out. Katie came in 4th in the long jump and Avery was the same in the high jump. We will keep you posted if these girls get to join Addyson and Rilee in Kokomo next week!! Photo Album

Awesome night at Rochester where the Triton Varsity teams took on Tippy Valley and Rochester in a 3 way meet.
More records broken again tonight. These kids just keep getting better and better with each meet.
The highlight of the night was the record breaking run by Javan May in the 100m dash. He has worked so hard to shave tenths of a second off every time he ran until he finally did it. Edging out Jones from Tippy Valley for the win and the record at 10.6. Triton Alumnus, Jeff Stouder held the 100m dash record since 1982 at 10.8. 42 years is a long time for a record to hold. Congratulations Javan on a hard earned title.
As it seems to be the norm lately, discrepancies in the results have lead to yet another different outcome then what was reported. OUR scoring shows, Triton BOYS came in a close 2nd to Tippy Valley with Rochester getting 3rd. And OUR scoring shows the Triton GIRLS TIED for 1st place with Tippy Valley, with Rochester girls getting 3rd also. Their official scoring shows differently but we are working to get it corrected. Our records seem correct if there's a change I'll post a retraction.
The other Triton athletes that topped themselves tonight by setting new personal records were:
Javan May, not only set a record in the 100m, set a new PR in the 200m also.
Caden Large set new PR's in both the 110 and 300 Hurdles.
Antonio Johnson set a PR in the 100m.
Jaydon Heckaman set his in the 1600m run.
Isaac Quintana and Connor Stetzel both set new PRs in the 400M race.
And our field event boys weren't forgotten. Max Ritchison in Shot Put, Wayne Reichert in Discus, Ben McFarland in Pole Vault and Kyle Cummins in Long Jump all had PR's on the night.
Not to be outdone. The Girls Varsity had several personal records set on the night too.
The 4x100 relay team set a PR and the 4x800 relay set a season best time.
Addison Albright set a PR in the 100m Hurdles.
While Lydia Hammond set one in the 100m dash.
200m dash had Katie Reichard setting a PR, while Braelyn Prater in the 400m and Kayla Poff in the 800m run set PR's too.
Field events saw Avery Viers setting a PR in Discus along with fellow thrower Sami Middaugh. Sami also set a SB throw in Shot Put while
Jazmin Lemler set a new PR.

It was a rainy night in Wabash at the 2024 Apache Invitational. Six schools came out to compete. They spent the first hour in the rain then about an hour in, the clouds parted, the sun peaked out for a bit, and the rest of the event went on with no more rain. By then everyone was wet and had to work to stay warm. Triton Varsity teams both came out with a 3rd place finish overall.
For the boys, Junior, Jacob Hudson led the night with a new PR in Pole Vault hitting 11’ 0” for the first time. That jump earned him a first-place medal on the night. Sophomore, Cam Callahan was the only other Triton boy to medal on the night with a first in Long Jump.
The Girls Varsity also had two first-place medal winners on the night. Senior, Addyson Viers in Shot Put and Junior, Katie Reichard in Long Jump

Triton comes out on top again in the North Miami Warrior Relays!
The Varsity Boys took home the trophy this year with a 1st Place WIN over the 7 schools participating in the relay games. Cam Callahan (6’0”HJ) and Cole Shively (5’8”HJ) both set new PR’s in the high jump on the night. Leading the Trojans to their win.
The Varsity Girls on the other hand took home 2nd place on the night. Falling to only North White. We have some discrepancies with the girls results. We show Avery Viers set a new PR in High Jump, hitting 5’3”. Which is only 1 inch away from tying a school record. But, the official results show her only jumping 5’2” on the night. We are working to correct this error. IF, we get it corrected then Triton girls should officially hold 2nd place above Tippy Valley which they currently show tied with us at 2nd. With the corrected jump it should drop Tippy Valley to 3rd. Once I get those results I’ll make the changes. Until now they tied. Addyson Viers was another girl that set a new PR in Discus throwing, 111' 4".

Another DOUBLE WIN for Triton’s Varsity Track Teams as they traveled to Knox to take on Knox HS and LaVille HS Thursday Night. Technically the Boys shared the win with LaVille, but a W is a W. Both teams scored 75 in first place with Knox coming in at 17 points. The Girls Team dominated the meet with an easy win over LaVille and Knox. Triton Girls scored 84, to LaVille’s 57.5, and Knox’s 25.5. Many more PR’s were set on the night. Check out the individual results for those PR’s.

It was Senior Night at Triton's first home Varsity Track and Field Meet. The sun was out and the weather was warm as the Seniors and their parents were introduced. To make it an extra special night the Girls and Boys Varsity Teams brought home a double WIN for the Triton Seniors. Once the events started it was a strong showing for all the Triton Athletes. Many top spots were held by Triton players, and many more PR's were set, records were broken, and others so close it was literally tenths of a second away.
Leading the girls was Senior Addyson Viers, again breaking her PR in Shot Put and setting another school record by over a foot farther at 42'1.5". She also set a new PR in Discus. Sister, Avery Viers, set a new PR in both Shot Put and High Jump, hitting 5'0" for the first time. Jazmin Lemler rounded out the girls with new PR's with one of her own in Shot Put.Long jump bought out Freshman Hosannah Chupp pulling in a second place in her first time jumping. Chupp and our other Freshman girl, Lydia Hammond both tied in the 100M dash while both setting new PR's in the event. Katie Reichard and Jocelynn Faulkner both pulled in new PR's in the 200M dash. Jocelynn also set a new PR in the 300 Hurdles, while teammate Addison Albright set PR's in both the 100 and 300 hurdles. Rory Heckaman and Macy Carson round out the individual PR's with one each in the 800m run. Both the 4x100 relay, and 4x400 relay girls teams set new PR's for themselves on the night too.
On the boys side. No new school records were set but MAN they came close. Senior, Javan May ran a 10.9 second 100M dash. The Triton School record held by Jeff Stouder from 1982 is still standing at 10.8, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Javan is coming for it. Close behind in the 100m was Cam Callahan and Vinny Prater both setting new PR's in the event also. The 200m dash bought 3 more PR's on the night from Javan May, Vinny Prater, and Wayne Reichert. Isaac Quintanna is keeping pace in the 400m dash with his own PR. And Jaydon Heckaman set a PR in the 1600m run. The 110 Hurdles brought in new PR's from Caden Large and Dante Workman. Dante besting Caden for the first time this season coming in almost 3 seconds faster for his PR. The New 2.0 4x100 relay team with the new Cole set a new SB time but they haven't caught the OG team yet. The 4x400 relay team set a new PR on the night also. For some reason no one seemed to be jumping their best in the long jump pit. But at the other end of the field the high jump pit saw new PR's from Cam Callahan and Dante Workman. Cam moving up 4" on his previous best. Rounding out the field events. Senior, Alex Brown, set a new PR for himself in Discus. He also set another in Shot Put, along with teammates Wayne Reichart and Max Ritchison. Newcomer Jayden Overmyer, throwing shot for the first time, pulled out a 2nd place showing for Triton, throwing 40' 11.5". Another highlight of the night was Freshman Pole Vaulter, Cayden Bradley hit 10' and fellow Vaulter Ben McFarland set a new PR on the night also. Keep up the great progress Varsity!! Lets keep breaking records and recording WINS!!!

70 Degrees and Sunny. No one could have come up with a more perfect weather day for a track and field meet. Add in the celestial event of a near total eclipse and it was bound to be an unforgettable day. We won’t talk about traffic!!
The Triton Varsity Team traveled to CMA for the 2nd meet of the season. While the boys dominated most of the running events, CMA took advantage of the distance races and relays to top Triton. The opposite happened to the girls’ team. The girls dominated the field events. Taking home almost every top spot and more. But the running events took Triton down again and the girls fell to CMA badly.
While the score weren’t what we like to see. Many Triton Athletes brought their A game and set MANY Season Bests (SB) and some even set new Personal Records (PR) already this season.
Javan May and Cam Callahan both Set SB and PR’s in the 100M dash. Vinny Prater and Wayne Reichert set SB’s in the 200M dash also. Connor Stetzel improved on the 400M race which was also a new PR. Liam Watkins did the same in the 800M race. Colton Large bested himself in the 3200M run. The Hurdles brought all kinds of records. Caden Large and Dante Workman both ran the 110 and 300 Hurdles, and both set new SB/PR’s. Cayden Bradley did the same in the 300 hurdles and set a new SB/PR in Pole Vault with a jump of 9’6”. Jacob Hudson topped his old PR in Pole Vault to hit a new height of 10’ 6” also. The new 4x100 Dream Team (Prater, Shively, Callahan, May) improved with a new SB time. Shot Put and Discus brought new SB/PR’s from Alex Brown, Max Ritchison and Wayne Reichert respectfully. High Jump and Long Jump proved many new records also. Cam Callahan and Danta Workman hit SB highs in the High Jump. Cam Callahan, Cole Shively, Brandt Blackford and Kyle Cummins ALL went way long in the Long Jump setting all new SB’s and PR’s. Cam is NOW less than a foot from breaking a Triton long jump record. Cam jumped 21’ 1.25”. The Trojan record on file has a tie between Curt Anders from 1984 and Dan Sharpe from 1972. Both men have held the record for over 40Plus years at 22’ 1”. We’ll be watching Cam all season to see if he can break this long-standing school record. Go CAM!!
The girls improved on the season all the way around. Many SB were set and some PR’s were found also. The two freshman girls, Hosannah Chupp and Lydia Hammond both improved in the 100M dash. Jocelynn Faulkner did the same in the 200M dash. Morgan Heckaman in the 400M and Rory Heckaman in the 800M both set SB’s. Kayla Poff not only set a SB but also a PR in the 3200M run. The 300 Hurdles found Addison Albright and Jocelynn Faulkner both improving on the season. All 3 girls relay teams improved their times also. Rilee Bemish and Jocelynn Faulkner got higher on Pole Vault at this second meet. Girls Shot Put saw Addyson Viers and Jazmin Lemler setting new SB’s. Plus Avery Viers and Gwen Neff both hit new PRs at the event today. Gwen also set yet another PR at Discus too. Everyone keeps improving from meet to meet, we will have many new records beat this year. Keep it up Trojans!

It had been a long cold and very wet first week of April. As the first Triton Varsity Track Meet arrived the skies started to clear and the sun finally came out to try to give a little warmth to what was a very cold meet.
The Varsity Teams traveled to Plymouth High School for a Double Duel Meet vs Plymouth and LaVille.
The Triton Boys team is made up of long time track stars but this year a huge group of first timers from all grades not just the Freshman have joined the team. Several boys are donning cleats for the first time in their high school career and many of them came out like seasoned veterans. Senior, Cole Shively, was a stand out. Having only practiced High Jump once in practice, Cole came out and took 2nd place in the event. The sand in the long jump pit was brutal today. The rain and cold made it more like clay then sand. I heard more then one athlete say it jarred their bones when they hit. Cole survived another new event to place third. Katie Reichard also hit the sand hard but came out with a new PR jumping 15' 6".
There were several PR's to report at this first meet. Jayden Overmyer set a new PR in the 200M race. The 300 Hurdles had a new Freshman Cayden Bradley, brining home a Triton first place in his first race. Vet Caden Large was close behind in 2nd place but also set a new PR for himself in the process.
The boys rounded out their day with another PR by Lincoln Williams in the 800M. The Boys Varsity team topped Plymouth 55 to 50, but lost a close one to LaVille boys 58 to 56.
The Girls Varsity, not to be outdone, set several PR's of their own. As mentioned, Katie in Long Jump. The Viers sisters, Addyson and Avery BOTH pulled out new PR's already in Discus. But Gwen Neff came out and hit a PR in Discus and Shot Put at Plymouth today. The girls team topped LaVille 67 to 46. But fell to Plymouth 87 to 27. Photo Album
