Pictured: Triton Boys & Girls Participants @ Warrior Relays
Friday night brought about the annual Warrior Relays in North Miami. It's one of the most anticipated meets of the year. The kids love the relay competitions especially because of the extra fun "Throwers Relay", "Shuttle Hurdle Relays", and the "Medley Relays" which make this meet special. Due to heavy rains when we arrived the meet did get a delayed start. But the kids powered through the rain and pulled off some great times to bring home a DOUBLE WIN for TRITON!! The Boys Varsity were reigning champs and defended their title with ease. The Girls Varsity, who were a close 2nd place last year after winning back to back years before that, were able to bring that trophy back home again this year. Official results are not correct, as an entire relay is missing, which Triton won. THat being said, Triton was awarded BOTH trophies that night. Although it could be as close as a one point win for the girls, we expect the official results to concur, and the Triton Boys and Girls Varsity were both Warrior Relay Champions on ther night!
Avery Viers set a SB and a new PR in Shot Put on the night. Brady Schuh sert a PR in Shot, along with Jayden Overmyer setting a SB in the event. Discus had Triton's Dom Bradley setting a new PR. And BOTH of Triton's 4x400 relay teams set new SB times on the year. The boys team is made up of Isaac Quintana, Caden Large, Lincoln Williams (PR), Jackson Faulkner. The girls team is: Morgan Heckaman, Chloe McKinney (PR), Rilee Bemish (PR), Rory Heckaman. The Girls 4x800 relay team also set a SB time on the night. Those members are Katie Reichard, Austyn Wright (PR), Chloe McKinney (PR), and Rory Heckaman.
